NND project started in 2002, but the first version was released in 2004 (pre-alpha).
The base system was based on Slackware and only featured packages necessary for the operation of the system and router. Soon afterwards appeared a simple installer and configurator. Also added a simple package system attendant dependencies and allows to make updates. After some time the NND developers decided to complete the reconstruction of distribution by adding a Pacman packages tool.

Kondara MNU/Linux – a Linux distribution based on the Red Hat Linux and is precompiled for Pentium or Alpha systems.
The main focus of Kondara MNU/Linux appears to be on creating an open source distribution that supports Japanese and places heavy emphasis on graphics.

Kondara comes in two versions: one that is aimed at desktop systems and another that is aimed at server systems. This clearly shows that a Linux system can work equally well as desktop workstation, server or both at once.

Kondara MNU/Linux includes a separate applications CD-ROM, packed with RPM packages, along with Sun’s StarOffice 5.2. As in most RPM packages, there are separate directories for i586 (Intel), Alpha, and noarch (short for no architecture) for packages not specific to any architecture.

The “MNU” is an expression of a sound made when you touch a penguin, and is derived from “Mount is Not Umount”.

The project was under development between 1999 and 2002.

Dyson – a general-purpose operating system, a Debian derivative using the illumos kernel, libc, and SMF init system (formerly OpenSolaris).

Dyson is built from scratch to be as similar to Debian as possible, i.e. most of Debian packages should build on Dyson without changes, and architecture-independent packages (arch all in Debian terms) should be installable without modification.

It provides features such as: ZFS, Solaris Containers, IPFilter, Dtrace, OpenSolaris Network Virtualization, Resource Control (also known as Crossbow), Advanced Packaging Tool (APT) and many packages.

Currently Dyson only runs on x86_64 processors (it is fully 64-bit).
The live ISO image provides a simple, text based installer.
