Linux AIO (All In One) – a Linux based project which provides remixes of a few Linux distributions (Ubuntu and flavors, Linux Mint, LMDE, Debian Live, Fedora, etc.) with different desktop environments on one ISO file that can be burnt on one DVD/DVD DL or USB 4GB+/8GB+ flash drive.

Every one of them can be used as Live system, with no need of installation on hard drive, or can be eventually installed on computer for full system experience.

The primary versions of Linux AIO are:
– Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu MATE, Xubuntu and Lubuntu on one ISO (i386, amd64 and efi ISO)
– Linux Mint Cinnamon, MATE, KDE and Xfce editions on one ISO (32bit, 64bit and efi ISO)
– LMDE Cinnamon and MATE editions on one ISO (32bit, 64bit and efi ISO)
– Debian Live stable GNOME, KDE, Xfce, Cinnamon, MATE and LXDE releases on one ISO (i386, amd64 and efi ISO)
– Fedora Live Desktop, KDE, LXDE, Xfce, MATE Compiz spins releases on one ISO (i386, amd64 and efi ISO)

DoudouLinux – a Debian based Linux distribution specially designed for children (and their parents) to make computer use as easy and pleasant as possible for them.

DoudouLinux provides a set of applications that suit children from 2 to 12 years old and gives them an environment as easy to use as a gaming console. Kids can learn, discover and have fun without Dad and Mum always watching.

DoudouLinux can be run from a CDROM or USB flash disk, so it does not need installing on a hard drive. It does not touch the data in the computer it runs on, nor the system installed on the computer. Shipped with built-in content filtering, it prevents children from accidentally visiting unsavory web sites. It also preserves user privacy on the Internet, removes ads in web pages and blocks bugs, to get the best web experience.

DoudouLinux is available in several pre-configured languages.
As we provide only the English version of the iso image, the other ones can be found at the project’s download page.

KANOTIX – a Debian stable based Linux distribution, with advanced hardware detection.

KANOTIX uses the latest stable packages of KDE and LXDE desktops from the Debian stable and backports repository.
It can be used as a Live DVD/USB disk system without touching a hard drive, but can be installed to the hard disk using the graphical acritoxinstaller.

The founder of KANOTIX is Jörg Schirottke “Kano”.
The distribution derived from “Kano’s Scriptpage for Knoppix” and is under active development from 2003.
Between 2003 and 2006 KANOTIX was based on Debian unstable “Sid” up to version 2006-01-RC4. After that the base system has benn moved to Debian stable.
A few dewelopers of KANOTIX left the project after moving it to Debian stable, so they started a new Debian ‘Sid’ project called Sidux.

New iso images of Kanotix 2020 Silverfire have been released in March 2020, after 6 years of break at the project development.

ForLEx (Forensic Live Examination) – a Debian based, Linux distribution providing an open-source environment for forensic examinations.

The distribution offers several useful utilities for forensic analysis.
It uses a lightweight LXDE desktop environment on the top of the Debian “Squeeze” base.

The system doesn’t offer much pre-installed applications, but the most important are:
– FTK Imager – a disk imaging program
– Guymager – forensic imager for media acquisition
– ForLEx – disk mount manager
– Ophcrack – Windows Password cracker
– Iceweasel, gFTP, Wicd, AbiWord, Geany, Audacious

Musix GNU/Linux – a Linux distribution, based on Debian GNU/Linux and targeted to music and video creators.

Musix contains a large set of pre-installed free applications for audio production, graphic design and video editing.
The live system can be installed on a hard drive. It also can be used as a Live system from a DVD or USB, with an option of stored live settings (persistent).

KDE is the default desktop environment, but there are a few other desktops available too: GNOME, LXDE, Fluxbox and IceWM.
The main language used in the Live system is Spanish, with Portuguese, English and French support as well.

Musix GNU+Linux is one of the few GNU/Linux distributions recognized by the Free Software Foundation as completly free.
The initiator and co-director of the project is Marcos Germán Guglielmetti.

MythDora – a specialized Linux distribution based on Fedora, and is designed to simplify the installation of MythTV on a home theater PC.

In addition to MythTV and its plugins, Mythdora includes extra Linux packages that are necessary for MythTV to run, and drivers for hardware commonly encountered in machines intended to run MythTV. Also included in Mythdora are several video game emulators, and extra tools and scripts.

The latest version of MythDora 12.23 was released on April 17, 2010 MythDora. It was based on Fedora 12 and featured MythTV 0.23.
On August 3, 2011 the project has been closed down.

Mandriva Linux (previously: Mandrake Linux) – an independent Linux distribution, originally forked from Red Hat Linux.

The system features the most popular desktop environments, a set of pre-installed application for daily usage, and integrated its own graphical configuration utilities tool ‘Mandriva Control Center’.

Mandriva Linux uses ‘urpmi’ package manager, which allows installation of packages by automatically installing all the needed dependencies, from various media, including network/Internet, CD/DVD and local disk. Urpmi has a graphical front-end called ‘pmdrake’, which is integrated into the Mandriva Control Center.
The RPM package management system is also available in the system to perform operation on the packages.

Mandriva Linux was started in 1998 under the name of Mandrake Linux.
The first release was based on Red Hat Linux 5.1, used the K Desktop Environment 1, and was released in July 1998.
In February 2005, MandrakeSoft merged with Brazil’s company called Conectiva to the new Mandriva S.A. In May 2015 Mandriva SA has been closed.

The last stable version of Mandriva Linux 2011 was released in August 2011.

Most Mandriva Linux developers went to Mandriva fork called Mageia.
ROSA is a fork of Mandriva created by former Mandriva developers too.
OpenMandriva Lx has been built on the top of ROSA as its fork.
PCLinuxOS initially derived from Mandrake.
Unity Linux (discontinued) is a Mandriva based distribution.
