The next one is based on Fedora.

Buhawi Linux – (Filipino for tornado) is a compact Linux distribution optimally designed for network servers.

It uses a concise file system hierarchy and lean, fast, text-based configuration tools. Buhawi was developed mainly because of the tendency of many other Linux distributions to put more emphasis on desktop systems and less on servers, for which Linux has already been proven to be an ideal operating system.

It was a full commercial-scaleat distribiution which was available through the labs of the Bluepoint Institute of Higher Technology Foundation web page.

Project Playground – or “Pipi” is a pentesting distro based on Debian that uses Xfce as its desktop environment.

It centers on web application security practice, it is packed with web apps intended to have vulnerabilities and weaknesses for you to practice. This includes DVWA, mutillidae, gruyere and webgoat and many more. Aside from those mentioned, articles and tutorials are also included.

The distro is made in the Philippines by a Filipino open source advocate and pentetsing lover named creatures/kreatures.

Igelle DSV – a Linux based operating system for personal computer desktops. Igelle DSV provides a general-purpose desktop operating system for desktop computers, laptops, netbooks and the like, and is in this release made available to personal computers using Intel-compatible processors (x86).

Igelle is designed to run on various different devices, including desktop/laptop computers, cellular phones, mobile internet devices and other handheld computers.

The Esther Desktop was based on LXDE and uses Gnome in combination with a Mac-style dock taskbar.

– lightweight graphical desktop that does not use much memory and runs fast;

AMA Desktop Linux – a Linux Distribution for AMA Computer University that aims to provide an interface that is comfortable to existing Microsoft Windows users.

Some of features present in the distribution:
– Welcome Center – aims to provide a brief introduction of the basics of AMA Desktop 2007.
– Personal Proxy Wizard – set up squid for personal proxy server, to make internet surfing faster.
– Windows Compatibility Tool – a tool to configure Wine and everything Windows related like NTFS and msttcorefonts.
– Consolidators – Those are the applications that consolidates all other applications into a single window. It aims to make the menus simple. (ie, File Sharing, Network Browsers and Tools, Encryption, Mobile Devices)
– File System Preferences – Make the root file system easy to navigate. This tool offers an option to hide all other directories in the root and provide a symbolic links for them.
– Desktop-Init – This provides the users with the default directories for AMA Desktop 2007, randomly choose a Face picture if it’s not available, and emblemize the default directories.
– Resource Manager – A tool that detects the system memory and disables some services via gconf if the memory is not met.
– Live Chat Support – An interface to create an account in Freenode and to communicate with other AMA Desktop 2007 users.
– Local Network Messenger – An interface that helps the user to create Bonjour IM service and provide an option to load them automatically upon boot.
– Draw Anywhere – An interface for gromit, that provides annotation capabilities even without Compiz. This is intended for presentations.
– Multicast Filesharing – An interface for udpcast, that sends files to multitude of computers within the network.

The latest version of AMA Desktop Linux 1.07 RC4 was based on Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn.

KahelOS – the first and remains to be the only Filipino Linux Distribution with the rolling release model based on Arch Linux + GNOME.

KahelOS comes with pre-configured GNOME as the default desktop environment. It uses suggested applications for Gnome, which makes everything tightly integrated. Default Gnome Applications for Office, Multi-Media and Web- Browsing and other popular GTK+ and GNOME applications.

KahelOS, the same as Arch Linux, uses the pacman package manager, a rolling release model for updates,
The distribution comes in the form of a live DVD which includes a graphical system installer.

The latest version of KahelOS was released in March 2012.
