Momonga Linux – a Japanese, independent Linux distribution developed by and for its own users.

The developer community use the “Bazaar”-style Development and keep in mind the goals:
– Secure Default Settings
– Strong Support and Usage of Ruby
– Easy Handling and Processing of Electronic Documents
– Packages for Scientific and Technical Computations

Momonga Linux uses RPM package manager to manage system’s packages.

The name of Momonga (aka Pteromys momonga) is a flying squirrel found both in Europe and Asia.

Momonga Linux is available as a Live CD, an install DVD and a minimal boot only iso images.
The last version of Momonga Linux 7 (install media) was released in 2010.
