Smeegol Linux – a MeeGo and openSUSE Linux based open source mobile operating system created by the Goblin Team, from Novell and openSUSE projects.

The Goblin Team is a diverse team of community members from all aspects of openSUSE. The aim of Goblin is to bring the latest innovations by the MeeGo Project and other upstream open source projects to openSUSE. It was started in the days of Moblin taking their innovative User eXperience for netbooks and marrying it to openSUSE’s stable foundation.

The system features the MeeGo user interface and a few pre-installed applications, such as:
– Banshee media player
– NetworkManager
– Evolution Express
– a range of social networking features for Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Flickr and Digg
– Firefox and Chromium web browsers.

The latest version of Smeegol Linux was released in February 2011.
