HP-UX (Hewlett Packard Unix) – a version of the UNIX operating system created by Hewlett-Packard.

HP-UX was the first an operating system for Hewlett-Packard products based on FOCUS processors and Motorola 68k processors. Then, for many years, it was produced for computers with PA-RISC processors. Since HP-UX 11.20 released in 2001, Hewlett-Packard began producing computers with HP-UX based on IA-64 processors and plans for future versions of HP-UX to run only on it.

The first version of HP-UX was based on UNIX System III [in other languages], and the next ones on code from UNIX System V and 4BSD at the same time.
