Frugalware – an independent developed Linux distribution created by Miklós Vajna.

At the moment, the system is being developed by a team of volunteer developers gathered around the project.
The system development modeled is similar to concept of Slackware.

KDE is the default desktop environment, but other desktops are also available during installation.
Frugalware uses “tar.bz2” packages, which are handled by a modified Pacman package manager.

Frugalware has two branches of development:
– ‘current’ – refreshed daily
– ‘stable’ – refreshed approximately every 6 months

Frugalware is available for i686 and x86_64 machines.
