Gibraltar Firewall – a Debian based specialist Linux distribution which provides ready to use firewall configuration and can be boot directly from a CD-ROM, so hard disk installation is not necessary.

The latest version works as a LiveCD and is based on Debian Lenny 5.0. It works as a firewall and gateway. The task of this system is to protect the local network against attacks by viruses, internet worms and cyber criminals.

The system is managed by a web browser, IPv6 is fully supported, and the web interface allows creating various types of filters, tunnels and routing routes.

The project is created by Dr. Rene Mayrhofer in 1999.
