BugnuX – a LiveCD Linux distribution based on PCLinuxOS, that is also installable, packaged with useful testing tools to help testers and quality assurance personnel.

BugnuX is aimed at helping tester software testers in setting up test labs with essential open source tools for testing software. Similarly test consultants need not worry about what tools are available with clients. Having testing tools that users are familiar with in a LiveCD, readily available, will get them to start testing quickly and easily without bothering to get accustomed to a new work environment or trying to acquire new skills. The bundled software includes the key ingredients for functional testing of Swing (Java) applications including: Jacareto (a Java GUI testing tool), Marathon (Java) (a Java GUI testing tool); Web Application Testing tools including: Selenium, Molybdenum; and Load testing tools: curl-loader.

BugnuX uses the new E17 desktop environment as the primary desktop environment, but Fluxbox is also provided as an alternative desktop. BugnuX is intended to run as any commonly used OS and so the package list includes all commonly used applications, that any normal user would need. BugnuX has it’s own repository for the open source software testing tools and E17 packages, which are well maintained.

Bugnux also has some standard Mozilla add-ons readily available in order to aid in software testing and user experience. The most significant add-ons include:
* Quick Locale Switcher
* Console
* Server Switcher
* CookieSwap
* DOM Inspector
* LiveHTTPHeaders
