Progeny (Progeny Componentized Linux, or Progeny Debian) – a free, Linux kernel based operating system, which was an alternative to Debian 3.1. It was based upon the Linux Standard Base (LSB) 3.0, with technology such as the Anaconda installer from Red Hat, Debian’s Advanced Packaging Tool, and Discover.

Progeny Linux Systems was founded by Ian Murdock (founder of Debian).
The project and the web site shut down on May 1, 2007.
