LinOS – a Polish Linux distribution created by OpenOffice Polska. It is based on Gentoo and uses the Xfce desktop environment.
LinOS works as a live CD. The main reason of creating LinOS was availability of secure internet connection. LinOS features full support of TPSA, Netia 24 (speedtouch) and Blueconnect modems, and the Wi-Fi support as well. The system works in live mode only, so all user’s data are not saved on a hard drive of a computer.
Top7 company (OpenOffice T7 maker) has bought the LinOS from OpenOffice Polska in 16 of September 2007.
After that, the LinOS was under development as a project of OpenZone.pl
The last version of LinOS 1.0.4 was released in 2007.
