Estrella Roja (previously: Red Star GNU/Linux) – a Debian-based distribution and live CD for the desktop. Developed in Argentina, it is primarily designed for Spanish-speaking users.
Although it was created in Argentina, today it has many international users and support. The main argument they use to argue their revolutionary and communist thinking is that they don’t have any funding from companies. However, communist iconography can be seen in many places on the graphic interface, especially about Che Guevara.
In addition to the operating system, the available Live-CD contains many tools: anonymous browsing, cryptography, office automation, sound and image editing, security, games, etc. It uses the KDE 3.5 desktop environment, although it also has the option of Fluxbox for use on computers with less resources.
