DARKSTAR Linux – a Romanian GNU/Linux distribution based on Slackware and created especially for use as a desktop system.
It is primarily addressed to those who have no previous experience in using a Linux operating system. Its authors claim that the system was designed to be easy to install, configure and use.
Darkstar 2008.1 contains a set of applications, including custom graphical configuration tools known as Advanced Linux Installation and Configuration Environment (ALICE).
