Cdlinux.pl – a Polish, Debian unstable “Sid” based Linux distribution, targeted to new Linux users.
The first version of Cdlinux.pl was created in 2001 by Jerzy Kaczmarek and Michał Wróbel at Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics of the Gdańsk University of Technology.
Cdlinux.pl uses Polish locales as default, and a very light IceWM window manager, so it can by run on very old machines with CPU PI 100MHz and 24 MB of RAM memory.
The system is available in 3 versions:
– Mały (Small) – 200MB of the iso image, contains a web browser, a mail client, an instant messenger, audio and video players, a graphics viewer, and a text editor
– Duży (Big) – 700MB of the iso image, contains many extra, useful applications for home and small office users
– DVD – many extra applications available straight from the live system, including many applications of KDE 3.5.6
The live system offers an option which lets you save the live system settings on a hard drive, or install the system on a hard drive as well.
The last version of Cdlinux.pl 1.0 was released in 2007.
There was a few tries to re-activate the project, unfortunately with no effects.
