Annvix – a free secure Linux-based operating system produced by the Annvix development team and Danen Consulting Services. The Annvix project aims to provide a secure, stable, and fast Linux distribution specifically tailored to servers that provide reliable services such as e-mail, Web, DNS, FTP, File sharing, and more.

Annvix was based on Mandriva Linux (originally forked from Mandrake Linux 9.2). It features a number of security enhancements, such as SELinux, GCC patched with SSP stack protection, supervise-controlled services, Linux kernel with AppArmor support. It also includes unique features such as running all services under runit, and auditing tools such as rsec (msec’s baby brother), aide, snort, and rkhunter.

It uses the APT (for RPM packages) for package management.
