Android-x86 – an unofficial version of the Google Android operating system, designed for Intel and AMD x86 processors. The system is based on the open source, community-developed Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

The project was created as a series of patches for Android that allowed Android to run on various netbooks and other mobile devices such as the ASUS Eee PC.

It provides a complete solution for Android on common x86 platforms. You may think Android-x86 as an Android BSP of generic x86 platforms.

The founders of the project are Chih-Wei Huang and Yi Sun.
