Navy Linux – an open-source community-powered operating system based on, and bug-for-bug compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, just like CentOS has been until December 2021. It is powered by the legal entity Navy Foundation: an independent Delaware Non-Profit Corporation 501c3 with the goal of delivering enterprise-grade and production-ready Linux-based operative system.

The Navy Linux project was founded by UnixLab (a community of Unix/Linux developers) on January 4, 2021 and developed into the Navy Foundation on June 14, 2021. The project aims to offer a minimalist installation of the Linux operating system. July 7, 2021 Navy has built expanded support for Linux platforms such as Workstation and Server, due to immediately meet the needs of the audience left by the sudden change of CentOS 8 Linux, which has declared EOL support from December 31, 2021.
