LinHES (Linux Home Entertainment Server) – an Arch based Live distribution that allows you to turn your computer into a home entertainment center.
The purpose of LinHES.org is to provide you with the knowledge needed to assemble your very own settop box using Linux. Utilizing open source software and off the shelf hardware you’ll be able to assemble a box that has the following functions:
– PVR
– Jukebox
– Image viewer
– Game station
LinHES is built on the Arch distribution and was designed for i686 class machines.
Previous versions of the system were created until 2007 on Knoppix under the name KnoppMyth.
Between 2007 and 2012, the project was not developed until LinHES 7.4 was released.
Version 8.0 has support for 64-bit machines only.
The Live system has the option of installing on a hard drive.
