Famelix GNU/Linux – (now known as BRLix) a Brazilian Linux distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux, Knoppix and Kurumin.

Famelix offers a KDE based desktop environment which is looks similar to Windows XP (“Linux with Windows XP appearance”). It helps users migration from an other operating system to a free one. This distribution used elements presented in other distributions like Debian GNU/Linux, Knoppix and Kurumin.

The development of this distribution was carried out by two houses of studies: the Brazilian, Faculdade Metropolitana de Guaramirim (FAMEG) and Chile, Universidad Austral de Chile (UACH).

BRLix, a successor of Famelix, the current distribution of this project tries to offer a similar to Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 Desktop, making the use even more striking, and even more simplified.

The last release of the project is BRLix 3.9 beta released in March 2016.
New files of BRLix were released in January 2017.
