eAR OS – an Ubuntu based, multimedia focused, Linux distribution with eAR Media Center built in.

The eAR Media Centre features an intuitive user interface which lets you:
– tune in to TV programs
– rip CDs to hard disk in lossless FLAC quality
– watch digital TV and DVDs
– listen to Internet radio
– view photos
– listen to music

eAR OS comes with pre-installing applications, such as:
– Wine for using Windows applications
– Audacity Sound and Recording Editor
– Audio CD extractor with FLAC and MP3 support
– k3B CD/DVD Burner
– Kaffeine for DVB-S and DVB-T TV and DVD playback
– VLC for Broadband TV
– Exaile audio player
– Firefox web browser with media player connectivity, Thunderbird E-mail/News, Pidgin internet Messenger for MSN
– F-Spot Photo Manager, GIMP Image Editor

The last version of eAR OS 1.10b was released in 2008 and was based on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Hardy Heron.
