Alinex – a Portuguese operating system created by the regional government of Extremadura (Spain) and the Universidade de Évora in 2005.

The operating system is designed for the students of the university.
It features complete Portuguese localization, and set of pre-installed applications for developing new applications.

The first version 1.0 was based on gnuLinEx.
From version 2.0 it is based on Ubuntu.
It is currently being developed by the University of Évora.

The latest version of Alinex 3.9.10 was released in 2010.
