Ultima Linux – a Slackware based Linux distribution, providing Live environment for Intel and AMD-based personal computers.
Development began in November 2004 a a lightweight, techie-oriented desktop system.
Ultima Linux is compatible with Slackware Linux and borrows Slackware’s TGZ package format.
It uses the KDE desktop environment as default and contains many popular applications pre-installed such as Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice.org office suite, GIMP image editor, MPlayer and Xine media players, etc.
The latest version of Ultima Linux 8.4 was released in 2008.
