tuXmas – a Kubuntu based Linux distribution created by the Linux User Group Backnang.

All contents of this DVD may be copied and passed on free of charge. Sometimes the content may also change and otherwise further used (please observe the respective license in individual cases).

They attach great importance to presenting as many different content as possible, music, Films, texts and other.

Some of the movies are stored in potentially unknown formats to the user. The popular formats, such as MP3, MPEG or DivX, are practically all of software patents loaded. An implementation in a playback software carries the risk of being sued by the patent holders.

These include OGG Vorbis, a lossy format for compression of music, FLAC, a motion-free music format, and Theora, a free codec for movies. All on the DVD existing movies can be played with the VLC player.

Audio and video material are included in different formats, if available we have the free codecs taken OGG Vorbis (for audio) and OGG Theora (for video). A player that is available for various systems are available (Linux, Windows, MacOS X and many more) and all necessary Formats plays, is VLC.
