MURIX – a minimal, based on Linux From Scratch and independent developed Linux distribution.

MURIX was created with the goal to function on all hardware platforms, for building bootable CD-ROMs.

Version 20020205, the initial release, became available on February 24, 2002.
Version 1.1 was released November 24, 2002.
Version 2004.2 was released December 25, 2004.

The project founder and developer is Murilo Pontes.
