Granular – a Linux distribution based on PCLinuxOS and aimed at providing an easy-to-use, stable, and functional Linux experience to the end users.

Granular comes as a LiveCD, which lets you test it with no need to install it on a hard drive. The standard CD version of Granular includes two desktop environments – KDE and Enlightenment 17. It uses Synaptic Package Manager, a GUI frontend to APT, for package management (installing, updating, or removing packages).

Granular features a Perl-based script mklivecd which makes it possible to remaster Granular or create a backup CD/DVD out of the installed system. It also included Granular StartPoint, which is a HTML-based and acts as a primer to the various major software included in Granular.

Through the various applications included in Granular, you can surf the internet, write articles, make presentations, chat with your friends, listen to music, play games, manage images and a lot, lot more.

Starting from Granular 2 (Wolverine) onwards, Granular will (never did?) be based on Unity Linux.

The project developer is Anurag Bhandari.
