Madbox Linux – a lightweight, Ubuntu based Linux distribution featuring the Openbox window manager.

The live system contains also the PCManFM file manager, a live installer and a few basic tools.
Madbox is created to be simply and lightweight, and let users configure the system as they wish.

Madbox is available as an i386 compatible iso image.
The system is developed by David Art.

  1. Madbox was one of THE best Openbox distros.

    Where others went for complexity and software bloat, Madbox went for ‘just enough’, to which one could add.

    It was perfect for old netbooks. I ran it on an EeePC 4G, with plenty of room to spare. All of my important data was on replicated, encrypted USB drives, ideal for security.

    I don’t think that this is even possible with Debian i386 netinstall.
