Linux Genealogy CD – an Ubuntu based live CD which features the Gramps application.

Gramps is a genealogy program for Linux, Windows, Mac, and FreeBSD that allows you to easily build and keep track of your family tree. It supports the GEDCOM standard, allows fine grained privacy controls and can generate many different types of reports (descendant trees, graphs, connection diagrams, ….)

Linux Genealogy Desktop CD allows you to either run some genealogy software off of a CD (aka the Live CD), or to permanently install the genealogy software and Linux onto your computer. It does include GraphViz which is responsible for drawing the charts and graphs within GRAMPS.

The latest version of Linux Genealogy CD is based on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.
