Jollix – a completely free Linux desktop distribution for x86, based on Gentoo Linux, pre-configured, for game and multimedia enthusiasts. It is distributed as a LiveCD to boot the PC.
Jollix is designed for games and multimedia purposes; it’s basis is the famous Gentoo Linux, that is capable of automatic hardware detection and configuration. The LiveCD starts a graphical user interface (XFree + KDE), so the most important and useful applications are available after startup.
Jollix autodetects and configures the hardware at startup. Like Knoppix, Jollix uses the KDE environment by default.
The distribution fits on a 700 MB CD-ROM. ISO images can be downloaded for free from the Jollix website (not active any more).
