AllegianceOS (AOS) – a Linux/GNU distribution based on Slackware Linux. It is currently 64 bit only, but the (unwritten) roadmap leads to 32 bit releases and possibly ARM64 in the future.

AOS is multilib by default – including the GCC and glibc packages from AlienBob’s multilib repository. It is minimal in size – the standard ISO releases will not exceed 1024mb. As few core Slackware packages have been rebuilt or edited as possible – the goal is not to actually “alter” Slackware but rather create a working subset of it’s full installation. This does not change the core dependencies within Slackware but rather allows the user to obtain the other packages from the main Slackware repositories via the standard `slackpkg` utility.

Currently AOS is in beta – based on the -current branch of Slackware Linux – it should NOT be used for a primary system at this time. Once Slackware -current branches into the next stable release (15.0), AOS will also release it’s first stable.

This project has been renamed to AnigmaOS.
