GOVOnix – a Xubuntu based linux distribution targeted to Italian speaking users.
Developed from a Xubuntu 12.04 LTS, MATE-desktop, cairo-dock, and XBMC-media-center were added. This is to give everyone the opportunity to feel in their preferred environment. Unity was not included for reasons of taste and usability (XFCE desktop is no longer available).
Software for the “IWB” or multimedia whiteboard has been added, which are Python-Whiteboard and Ardesia. It would be wonderful if Italian schools used this software; it would save money and allow all computer programs to be used on the whiteboard itself at a fraction of the cost.
The graphical interface starts by default with Cairo-Dock, but other interfaces can be selected from the ligtdm drop-down menu.
