DaxOS – a Linux distribution was under development between 2009 and 2013. The system is based on Ubuntu and uses Enlightenment as the default desktop.
DaxOS is available in four different variants, each one addressed to a different users:
– Desktop – to every user, it has the basic tools and applications designed for work, leisure and entertainment
– Kids – provides educational programs and games, designed for children
– Life – the environment for older users, provides tools which give easy access to modern technology
– Experimental – provides news of DaxOS, but the system is not stable.
DaxOS 1.0 – 1.15 “Ice” was based on Ubuntu Jaunty.
DaxOS 1.2 “Lion” was based on Ubuntu Maverick.
Version 1.3 “Fire” was based on Ubuntu Natty.
The last versions of DaxOS 2.0.x “Colibrí” were based on Ubuntu Precise.
The live system works in Spanish, but it is possible to switch to English.
Other languages are available during the system installation.
All versions are available for i686-class machines.
