Aurora OS (previously: Eeebuntu and Ubuntu EEE) – an Ubuntu-based netbook operating system originally designed for the Eee PC. It also supports many other netbooks, such as the Samsung NC10, Acer Aspire One, and Dell Mini.

Aurora is designed with simplicity in mind. Aurora functions on a rolling release mentality.

It includes a number of extras and tweaks under the bonnet to give you usability from the start. Aurora’s GNOME edition has a configuration option on install which allows you to decide which desktop variant you would like. You can have a standard desktop complete with all the applications you need, or maybe the Netbook launcher interface? You can even select a basic install which means you pick the apps you want.

It supports the ASUS Eee PC 700, 701, 900, 900A, 901, 904HD, 1000, 1000H, 1000HA, 1000HD, and 1000HE by default.
You can create a bootable FlashDisk or SD card using UNetbootin.
Four installation versions are available: Standard, NBR (standard with Ubuntu Netbook Remix), Base, and LXDE.
Includes the ACPI utility eeepc-tray for monitoring ACPI events and enabling/disabling certain Eee devices.
