AROS Vision – the AROS Vision distribution is aimed at Amiga M68k users. For the best experience using this distro, a powerful Amiga machine or an emulator like WinUAE is recommended.

AROS is an open source implementation of AmigaOS, largely compatible with API 3.1.

The 68k version of AROS (called AROS 68k) is binary compatible with Amiga binaries. This means you can extend or replace components with Amiga 68k binaries. There will also be a Linux branch of AROS in the future with AROS software and components compiled for Linux.

Current versions of AROS Vision are based on AROS 68k. There are currently three different desktops on AROS: Wanderer (the native AROS desktop), Scalos, and Magellan. AROS Vision offers versions based on Scalos and Magellan.

Added features:
– Added Tools – Contains many tools and goods including screen blanking, screen capturing, file encryption and decryption and much more.
– Sophisticated Magellan and Scalos configuration – Multiple predefined file types that offer right-click options. It offers e.g. many conversion options even for exotic formats.
– Pre-configured player and viewer – Multiple formats are displayed or played when double-clicked. This applies to many image formats (eg iff), sound or video, but also archives are opened by double-clicking.
