PenaOS – a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu and tweaked to look exactly like Windows XP.

PenaOS is aims to help people to write scientific articles. PenaOS is built on the stable release of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.

PenaOS has pre-installed the complete set of multimedia codecs, Openoffice.org, Firefox with plugins Zotero for bibliography writing, fireftp and downthemall, Balsa email client, Gyache for yahoo messaging, Skype, Dropbox, GnomePPP, GnoCHM, GIMP, Cheese, Wine and NTFS configuration tools.

The latest version of PenaOS 1.0 beta was released in May 2010 and was based on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx.
