mintyMac – a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu, available in a few flavours. The Goal was to hopefully migrate some windows and Mac users to Linux. Loaded with multimedia software including guitar tuner, effects,and multitrack, GIMP and Inkscape for graphics, remastersys, relinux for building your own distro easily. Multiple Desktop Environments included are xfce4, gnome and e17.
Main features:
– Mac OS X look and feel also with options for Windows XP theme
– runs on any 64 bit computer from netbooks to full desktop computers
– an app to switch between the default xfce4 window manager (Xfwm4) to Compiz
– lots of audio software including VLC, Banshee,Ardour, Audacity etc.. plus guitar tuner and effects software
– plenty graphics programs including Gimp, Inkscape and ImageMagick
– mintyMac standards including docky, whiskermenu, Xfce4
– Compiz desktop effects including Wobbly windows and Magic Lamp (genie effect)
There are other version available too, with desktops: Cinnamon or MATE.
